I am a marketing director, graphic designer, and occasional fine artist living and working in Allentown, PA. I consider myself a visual thinker and a typography enthusiast.
I studied drawing and painting throughout primary school, and attended classes at the Baum School of Art during high school. At Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, I studied graphic design and advertising, and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2006. I worked professionally as a designer for 15 years before officially pivoting that career experience in the broader direction of marketing.
The thing about making creative decisions all day at work is that there is precious little creativity leftover for personal projects. The desire to embrace fine art through painting or drawing is often there, close to the surface, but the energy is not there to support it. Or there is laundry to do. On the rare occasions that I sit down and make something by hand, my work is usually flat, quick, and symbolic in nature.
